Giveaway + Other Goodies To Share

Posted by Happy Homemaker UK

Living in England,
I can't help but rekindle my love for the country cottage look

Smitten :)

Thanks to Englishwoman Rachel Ashwell,
shabby chic design has taken the world by storm for the last 20 years

Other English icons going strong include Cath Kidston and Liberty of London since 1875

Cath Kidston

by Liberty

Freaky cute, eh?

Check out Liberty's one-minute video on how to tie a cute head scarf
She makes it look so easy

{ if it were me, I'd likely get it fumbled around my limbs,
crashing to the floor in a muffled 'help help!' }

Here are a few more goodies I've come across lately

Have you checked out any online magazines before?
Here's a great one to whet your appetite: Leaf

Rochelle Greayer is one of the masterminds behind Leaf
- designer, turned blogger, turned magazine creator -

With a focus on the garden and outdoors,
this quarterly read is sure to bask in success for years to come

The first edition was released just this week :)

1. Leaf Magazine    2. Candle via Baileys    3. Tree Swing from Dirt Couture

I know, 'Mowed Grass'? Can you stand it?

And how adorable is that tree swing?!
I think everyday ordinary should be wrapped in such great design :)
Don't you?

Thinking this personalized 'Likes' print {below} is a perfect way to capture a current snapshot
of the ever-changing kiddos

And you know I'm all about the retro laptop case :)

1. Personalized 'Likes' Print by Rosie Robins    2. Ted Baker's Laptop Case

There's an interesting Etsy-esque website in the UK called 'Folksy'
See a few fun finds I found on Friday
{ like the alliteration? }

And those outside the UK may not be familiar with AGA cookers
but my, how it screams cozy country!

How I hope beyond hope that our next house will have one of these
to warm the kitchen 24 hours a day
{ it maintains a constant temperature }

I'd have to take special AGA cooking classes to use one, but that is okay by me
{ according to their website, coming to the US soon }

1. Chair via Folksy     2. AGA Cooker     3. Garden Potting Table via Folksy   4. Bedding by Pip Studio

Pip Studio from the Netherlands is another 'must have'
Fresh, adorable, bright design every single time

Now to my exciting giveaway :)

Not just a great house sign,
but possibly a Christmas ornament or addition to a little vignette?

{ worth $49/ 29 euros and up }

Such a lovely post! Although the combination of the word "giveaway" and a picture of those Liberty Nike hightops nearly had me fall off my chair!!!

However, the sign giveaway is equally fabulous - consider me in!

elaine said...

Looks like you've had some good 'site' finds, there are gazillions of sites out there it's just a case of having the time to find them.

I love the Nike sneakers! So cool! Would love to join in on the giveaway fun. These signs look like so much fun and I have the perfect spot picked out if I am the lucky blogger. =)

Sweet signage!I'm in!

I love agas too and looked into it, was offput by a friend telling me her oil bill for it alone is £13000 a year - yeaoooow! And you really do have to turn them off in summer. Maybe better with a cheaper fuel source? But so so super cosy. We ended up with a rangemaster cooker, kinda has the aga look, but not the same dammit!! Sniff.

Belinda @ Wild Acre said...

Off put??? I mean put off!! Even thinking of agas clearly scrambles my brain!;)

I've bookmarked several of these items in my 'gifts' folder which is a place where I gather things that I love or know someone I care about would adore.
Thank you for all that you've shared today - true treats indeed.

Happy weekend Lovely!

That Kath Kidston kitchen is swooney. Now, how to convince my husband of that is the question!

I don't want to win the sign, but I did want to say thanks for the great post! I love EVERY SINGLE THING you've shown! I've never heard of Liberty, but I'm off to find out more about them now! Thanks!

I could really have done with this post a few days ago. I was needing to wear a headscarf (really really bad hair day), but I've never had the confidence to do so before. I thought I'd give it a go. I couldn't do it at all, because my straggly hair kept getting in the way. I had to get my 7 year old daughter to help. The result was distinctly unimpressive. A colleague at work said it was "Jackie O meets Johnny Depp". I think I carried it off, though. It's amazing what you can bluff your way through. If I'd put on a French accent for the day, no doubt everyone would have thought it was super-chic. That woman was chic before she did anything with the headscarf, just by virtue of her accent.

Yes please to the sign.

My favorite English designer is vintage Laura Ashley...when she was doing the designs herself. I still have some of the catalogues and use them for reference. I love Liberty's fabric too...so soft and pretty.

I didn't know about that "folksy" site. Thanks for sharing. I love the way you lookat England and either make me remember details I forgot or introduce me to things I didn't know. I might spend a few days in England next year... I'm so excited(even if it's only a "might").

Amanda said...

Heck yes! What a great site and I'm so grateful for your shout out to folksy! It's difficult to find equivalent websites in the UK that I enjoy using in the US (by the way, is there something similar to craigslist?). I'd love to win some signage! My little ladies and I are headed over the pond on Thursday! So exciting!!

Patricia said...

Oh Yes !! I LOVE the signs !! Count me in PLEASE PLEASE !!!

Love your site. I said "Aga" and my other half said "no"! They do cost a lot to run on oil. Everyone I know who owns an Aga has an electric cooker in their kitchen as well.
