Happy Thanksgiving From The UK

Posted by Happy Homemaker UK

Thanksgiving may be the favorite holiday of most American adults,
a day of simply sharing a meal with family and friends

Because Thanksgiving is not celebrated in the UK,
tomorrow will be a regular work and school day around here

Our family will trot off to a local restaurant serving up Thanksgiving Dinner for local Americans
eager to fill bellies with the traditional fix'ns: cranberries, turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie
{ I hope an American football game will be playing in the background too}
:)

Wishing my dear American friends & family a Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Happy thanksgiving! I'm with Sarah, I wish we celebrated it here too, seems like such a positive kind of shindig. Perhaps not so close to Christmas though, September would be perfect to me, tying in with harvest? Belinda xx

I too wish us Brits celebrated it in some form. Would love it I think! Hope you get some pumpkin pie...!

Some of my favorite Thanksgiving memories are expat ones. Somehow the holiday seems more meaningful when you are having to be so deliberate about it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! My husband is taking half of the day off tomorrow and I am cooking a big traditional meal. Mmm! We will have leftovers for weeks, but I couldn't let the holiday just pass us by.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Laura. I've been thinking about you and wondering how you and your family will spend Thanksgiving. Does any of your family from the U.S. ever fly over to visit? Still enjoying your blog. :)

Hugs,

Denise

Happy Thanksgiving to you! It's holidays like these as expats that just aren't the same, are they? We had our Thanksgiving in early October and I couldn't even find a pumpkin to decorate with. I have seen some now - for American Thanksgiving I guess. Our Thanksgiving just comes too early. xo

Happy T-day to you my expat friend! Sadly we're not celebrating my favorite holiday today. The French school system fails to see that my kids should be off today. :) But, thinking we may move it to Sunday when I can even catch some football on the internet with Sky TV! :)
