What I See

Posted by Happy Homemaker UK

Snapshot of yesterday

The last trees shed their leaves
as darkness falls early
and constant moisture drips from the air

Like squirrels preparing for winter,
we hunker down with chunky sweaters,
a cozy fireplace, warming soups,
& family games

{ Congratulations to Chania from Razmataz for winning the enamel sign giveaway. And many thanks to RamSign for providing the goods! }

Sounds glorious and although we're heading into spring here, I'm a little envious of the snuggly season before you.

Gorgeous image too, made me inhale deeply.

Loverly. I remember reading in some book the image that trees shed their leaves like a lady stepping out of her dress...hmm...where was that?

I always think that autumn is the best British season - I'm never disappointed by the smells and weather. Perfect for snuggling!!

And I LOVED your Bonfire Night post below. It's a bizarre tradition, I know, but I love it anyway!!

I agree with what Pet says about the English countryside. Poetry in motion. I like what you see, and I like that you share what you see. What else do you have?

Oh my, so pretty. I think I would like to set up a chair there and just enjoy the beauty.

Hi Laura! I am sooooo loving that post pure comfort.
We are just getting back home to Helsinki after 8 days in Italy. Out first homemade meal is a big pot of veggie soup simmering on the stove as I write. Outside everything is still covered in frost and I am sporting a big chunky sweater! We were meant to be the best of friends!
