Random Thoughts

Posted by Happy Homemaker UK

I love this photo of me because

A shadow forms only when the sun is shining ;)
I love that the grass is green year 'round in England
And for once I look tall!

Ah Ha!
I just realized why no parking spaces are angled here

It would be too difficult to reverse into an angled space,
as drivers often do to make it easier to get out between those narrow lines

And a little hat tip to two very important Englishmen...

James Bond's 50th Anniversary
Charles Dickens's 200th birthday

And with Super Bowl Sunday coming up,
we are on the fence about staying up to watch the football game that starts at 11pm our time
on a school night

What would you do?

Did laugh at your photo comments! I would record the game though, not lose any beauty sleep.

As an expat from Florida (the Sunshine state!) I too feel happy seeing a shadow because it means the sun is out in England - hooray! And I just remarked about the green grass on our trip to Stonehenge last week. It is just so vibrant - especially against the typically gray skies. Spring is coming, spring is coming... ::thinking happy thoughts::: :)

with so much hype, even I would watch it (and never seen an American football game in my life)-but more importantly =it is Scotland vs. England in the nations tonight...

Love your photo, totally understand about being excited over the sunshine in England! "Here Comes the Sun" was definitely written by an Englishman! (George Harrison)
Hey, guess what? My little photo is in the new issue of "In Crochet" magazine, the March issue.
I am one of the Sibolettes pictured, 3rd row, 3rd photo...dark hair, basketball head? That's me!
Oh, that's too late to watch that game... the playoffs are ALWAYS better games, I would just go to bed.

Hmmm, the Scotland vs England rugby match isn't on 'til 1am for this anglo-celtic expat family - and it's not even on the tv here. Grrr.

I wouldn't stay up to watch. Go to bed and wake up to that green grass!
I like your shadow! VERY elegant!

i LOVE that shadow shot of you - so chic!

Your shadow is so cute- reminds me of Mary Poppins. :) As far as football, it might be a nice memory for your family to get cozy wih midnight snacks and watch at least a quarter together. Usually you can tell if it's going to be an exciting game or not by then. We don't have t.v., sowon't be watching unless we go to a friend's. I don't even know who's playing! :/

I would stay up...if it's a big deal to your family and if it was something you would have always watched back in The States, I'm sure for one night of fun and back home familiarity it would be okay! Hope you get the snow that's been predicted! We saw on the news pretty much all of the UK is getting snow except where we are in North Wales so we're kind of disappointed about that! It would be more fun to see it on our doorstep than to drive to the mountains like we did in the post you commented on! and if you do want some of that rocky road hot chocolate you can buy it at Whittard's if you have one local to you or probably from their website too! Thanks for stopping by my blog :) If you're a fan of Cheesecake I'm hosting a Cheesecake giveaway on my cupcake blog later tonight if you want to check it out :)

The Superbowl is one thing I do really miss. Not sure what the coverage will be like in the UK but we found that it just wasn't the same without the regular announcers, the commercials, etc. More of a "game" and less of a "party". I doubt we'll stay up to watch this year. Kind of sad about that though. xx

We are also undecided about watching the game (Although we plan on going out to a bar and socializing, so it would be an all night thing) Since NY is in the game I really want to go! But it would probably mean us getting home at 6am on a work day...Bleh. Next year I'll definitely be hosting a super bowl party though! ~Meg

Super Bowl? Not very high on my list of things not to be missed.

Great job on the shadow. I have to admit I am very jealous of the green grass. As for the Super Bowl - my favorite part is the commercials. I'd suggest getting your rest.

my first thought was mary poppins, too...she's my favorite! great photo! :)

Awesome photo...Love your description. We have plenty of green grass here too.
Sleep through the Bowl and watch commercials the next day on Hulu or something.

Take care, Eli

I'm skipping the super bowl and it's in our time zone.
Great shadow show. You're even rocking a cool tote!

I would definitely skip the game...the Packers stunk up the play offs so I have no team left to cheer for.

By the way I’ve added your blog to my “Expats around the world” blogroll. I hope my readers enjoy your blog as much as I do. :)

What a cute picture of your shadow! PS...I'd skip the game if I were you. That is LATE.

Cool photo! I do love that green. :)

Since I'm not a football fan I would have no trouble skipping the game.

I would be recording the game! I might be a sports fan but it's not of that much importance that I'd have to watch!

I definitely love the VW bus in your header! My dad drove one for many years. Since he passed away it's been living in my pasture.

Thankful for Dickens!
