Day Out With The Girls

A friend and I had
the perfect day with our daughters
last week

I'm not a fan of musicals,
but Matilda is the best one I've seen EVER

Based on a Roald Dahl story,
this musical oozes talent and creativity

About a girl who is mistreated by her parents and headmistress,
this dark story has a happy ending
with snappy tunes, amazing sets, and delightful choreography along the way

We started our day off right at Sanderson Hotel
with their Mad Hatter's Tea

Complete with marshmallow mushrooms, 'Drink Me' juice, and other fun (and delicious) bites,
my daughter had a hard time deciding if she liked the musical or the afternoon tea best

I'd say it was a tie

Such a great day!

Hi There, Those are such special times, Mom and daughter times!!! You will all remember that forever!!! And when it's a good play, even better!!! My daughters are now 20 & 22 and they remember all the shows I have ever taken them to, even the not so good ones!!! You should plan the next one already!!!

Beautiful. I hope Matilda makes its way to australia. One of our favourite Roald Dahls

So glad you had a lovely time with your daughters and a friend with hers! "Matilda" has a very good write-up. I'm glad to hear it was good - even if you don't usually enjoy musicals!
Last month I was in London and went to see "Billy Elliot" with my grandson and grown children. The dancing was great, the story touching, but the language was atrocious. You can never tell in advance what something will be like!
I much preferred "Lion King" (magical) and "The Wizard of Oz" (just as magical!) - both seen in London when I was over visiting.
That Mad Hatter's Tea looked like fun, especially if the children are aware of the story behind it.

I would have a hard time deciding, too! A musical is always the best but that tea looks charming and delicious!

Off to read
more and work our whereabouts you are living. You're making me homesick.
